Scott's Antiques Market...

I'm happy to report that this month's show was the busiest in over a year! Scores of people, looking AND shopping! The weather here in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday was warm and sunny, unlike parts of the northeast, and I think folks were just ready to get out and about.

With little opportunity away from my own booth, I wasn't able to snap pictures of many other booths, but here are a few that caught my eye because of their contents and the stylish displays.

Sandy Luther Antiques and Architecturals, Greensboro, NC. Sandy always showcases lots of elegant accessories, both vintage and antique, like mirrors, sconces, porcelain and quartz objects, and other 'pretties'.

The nude drawing was outstanding.  Sandy also has an uncanny knack for mounting and displaying things like gnarly roots and tree branches like extraordinary works of art.

One of a pair of white porcelain lamps mounted on an antique stone block. Sandy specializes in little French-style side tables in gilded bronze or painted wood.

Kevin Murrey of Lush Design Succulents of Atlanta always carries one of the largest assortments of lamps, lamp shades and mirrors at the show. He also carries the largest selection of potted succulents in the city. His booth was so busy, I was only able to take one quick photograph!

Corey J.  Van Cleave of The French Room showcases antiques mainly from the Directoire period, one of my favorite eras. He is also a successful interior designer. Unfortunately, these photographs do not do justice to the lovely little accessories and engravings. The antique barometer is first rate, as is the collection of antique mounted medallions.

Margaret Bostick of The Silk Purse in Atlanta showcases French and English antiques, and she always has beautiful pairs of chairs and small tables. She also carries a huge inventory of vellum bound antique books.

Karen Berryman has been traveling and buying in France for years. Her career as a flight attendant brought her to France, and like me, she fell in love with the people, the country and the antiques. Karen specializes in porcelain, principally 18th and 19th century cream ware.

  2. Sometimes I'm tempted to fly in and out in a day, love Scotts. Next time I go I'll be sure to look for your booth.
